Our top 5 favourite boudoir makeup looks!

Can’t decide how you would like to look in your boudoir shoot, here are some great makeup options for your to try or to let your makeup artist help you look like.

1. Soft and Sweet
Want to go for a more natural look? Then soft and sweet is the look for you! Keeping things simple by using pinks, nudes, and brown tones will help capture this look but still keep it all about you.

2. Bold Lip
Do you just love your lips and want to show them off any way possible? Why not opt to add a bold pop of colour! We suggest keeping the eye makeup simple so that all the focus will be on those beautiful lips of yours.

3. Smoky Eye
Probably the most requested boudoir look, but you definitely can’t go wrong with a smoky eye! Nothing draws you in to your boudoir photos quite like this look and why not show off those beautiful eyes of yours by really featuring them in your makeup look.

4. Dramatic Everything
Really want to try something new for your shoot? Opt for the dramatic everything look! Opting for a dark eye and a bold lip together is a great look if you want to be a little more extravagant for your shoot.

5. Pin Up
It’s a classic look that a lot of women enjoy. A simple eye with some thick eye liner helps feature your eyes for your session, but pairing a red or bright pink lip for this look will give you that pin up feel for your shoot.

Should I use Jewelry for my Boudoir Shoot?

To wear jewelry or to not wear jewelry that is the question!

To wear jewelry or to not wear jewelry that is the question! Not all women wear jewelry on a day-to-day basis, and that’s fine, but for boudoir, Sarina and I really think it’s a must.

You don’t have to have something for ALL of your outfits; sometimes simplicity is best depending on what you are wearing. If you like to keep things clean, then long or simple necklaces could be the look for you. If you LOVE jewelry and cannot wait to use some for your shoot, then bring everything you own as there is nothing better than having lots of options.

At the studio we’ve got lots of jewelry options for you to choose from. Big bold necklaces that make a statement… we’ve got it! Classic lovely pearls…. We’ve got that too! Chunky heart lockets that add that little extra something to your cleavage line… you are in the right place. Long simple beaded necklaces to just add a little something something to your photos, we’ve got it too!

Don’t stress if you don’t know what to use, that’s why we are here to help. Before your shoot we will help you accessorize and decide what will be best for each and every one of your outfits.

Boudoir photography is for women of ALL ages!

Boudoir photography is for women of ALL ages, so don’t stress if you’re not twenty anymore and are thinking about getting your photos done. You are looking in the right place as Sarina and I have shot well over 1000 women in our time together with ages ranging from 18-72.

There is no better time then now to get your boudoir photos done, and every women should do this at least once her in life. Even if you have had a shoot done when you were younger, what better way to embrace your beauty now then to have another shoot done?

Boudoir Photos | How to do Christmas Boudoir Right

Tis the season for boudoir! Nothing says I love you at Christmas time like a beautiful album to present to your special someone on one of the happiest days of the year.

But lets be honest, there’s a lot of cheesiness that comes with Christmas time and to make sure you prepare yourself for that Christmas themed shoot you have in mind, here are some great ideas that allow you to still love these photos for years to come.

Don’t opt for the fluffy Santa Clause themed outfit. 5 years from now when you look at your photos, we want you to still love them, so choosing classic outfit choices will work best. Instead of the Santa Clause outfit, let the colours of your outfit represent Christmas time. Going for a vibrant red lingerie piece (bra and panty set, baby doll, corset, ONESIE, etc.) on a white fuzzy rug will give you the Christmas vibe that you’re going for.

Another great suggestion would be incorporating another gift you plan on giving your man for Christmas into your shoot. You might be buying him a watch, dress shirt, tie, or a bottle of cologne for Christmas, why not bring it with you to your shoot and use it as a prop!

Lastly, wrapping you up like a present in Christmas themed wrapping paper, but a good alternative to the Christmas present would be to find some panties with a big bow on the bum.

Number 5 – Nudes

Why not try some nudes? If you want to remember your body the way it is at a certain point in your life, then what better way to remember it then to photograph it! Don’t worry, we will make sure you look beautiful and that your photos are tasteful. Getting naked doesn’t mean you have to do a full frontal, shooting through a sheer to make it less obvious is a good option, or even putting the focus of the photo on something else in the room, and having your beautiful naked self blurred out in the background is a good alternative.

Number 4 – Man’s Shirt

Getting your photos done for that special someone in your life? Borrow their shirt for the day and pair a bra and panty set underneath for another classic look that HE will LOVE. Dress shirts are great options but not the only one, even using a sweater of his or another type of shirt is a good idea too. Want a more risqué look? Try using just panties underneath or go nude and use the shirt to cover what you don’t want shown.

Number 3 – Bra and Panty Set with Stockings

Have a sexy bra and panty set, but want to accessorize your outfit a bit more? Why not try some stockings or stockings with a garter belt. We love this look and so will you! Don’t worry if you don’t have any stockings or a garter belt (or if you don’t know what a garter belt is!). We have all of that at the studio for you to use.

Number 2 – The White Sheet

WE LOVE using white sheets as an outfit. This outfit is great for every woman and is a classic look that you will never regret. Sheets are great for all shapes of women and for all comfort levels. They are great because you can cover up as much or show off as much as you want. What’s also great about this outfit is you don’t have to bring anything and it won’t cost you a dime!

Number 1 – The Onesie

This is our absolute favourite outfit! We have loved this option for a couple years now and are thrilled to know that it has made a comeback and is a super popular lingerie option at all lingerie stores. Onesie’s are like a one piece bathing suit that is either meshy, see-through, or lacey, and we love them as they are flattering for ALL body types. If you want to try something new and exciting for your shoot, then go get an onesie for your shoot now!

Boudoir Edmonton | Our Top 10 Favourite Boudoir Outfit Choices | Part 1

Sarina and I have compiled a list of our favourite outfit choices for you to enjoy! The most common questions we get from women is "what should I wear?" Here are some great options for you to try for your next boudoir shoot!

Number 10 - Oversized Sweater

An oversized sweater is a great option for your boudoir shoot! It’s a great choice for women of any shape and age. Pair your sweater with some cute panties and opt for the no bra look (or strapless if you need the support!). Nothing is sexier than a sweater that falls exposing that bare shoulder of yours.

Number 9 – Matching Bra and Panty Set

Can’t think of anything to wear? Nothing looks better than having a matching bra and panty set, and it is such a classic look that you can’t go wrong! Whether you opt for simple and go all black or go for more of a fun side with a cool pattern! This outfit choice isn’t hard to find and you might already have this item in your drawers.

Number 8 – T-Shirt & Socks

Going for more of a cute look? Pairing a fitted t-shirt with some knee high socks will give you the look you’re going for. Whether your t-shirt has a band, video game, or a cute logo on it, or even just a plain coloured one, these are all great choices. Even borrow your man’s t-shirt for the day; I’m sure he will love to see the photos of you wearing it!

Number 7 – One of Our Corsets

Corsets give you that perfect hourglass figure and are flattering for all body types. Our custom made corsets are from Sweet Carousel Corsetry and are hand made and designed with lots intricate details, you won’t find anything like them anywhere else! Bring your own panties with you to the studio and get ready to look fabulous.

Number 6 – Just Panties

Have some amazing panties but don’t have anything else to go with them? Try wearing just your underwear then! Whether you want to cover up the top by using your hands or lying down on your stomach, or if you would like to show off a little more skin and bare it all, all of these are great options.
