Getting a little personal on the blog today!
Sarina or myself haven't done too many blog posts about ourselves as of yet, so I thought what better way to get to know me then to do a little 'Show and Tell' shall we say. So here goes nothing!
I am Calie Schwartz, photographer at Pink Blush Boudoir. I have been working with Pink Blush since 2009, and have photographed well over 500 women myself since I have been here. I met Sarina when I first started working at Pink Blush in 2009 right around the time that she took over the business, and I cannot say how lucky I truly am! We get along very well, and are practically the same person, so you could say I hit the jackpot.
Born and raised from Edmonton, Alberta, I am the youngest child to my two wonderful parents, and have a older brother who is married and has a fabulously sassy 2.5 year old. I am 28 years old, single, and have a Golden Labrador Retriever who's name is Bodhi. He is probably the neediest dog I know but I love him anyway.
I absolutely love what I do, and have always wanted to be a photographer from a very young age, so my job is truly a dream come true. I attended NAIT's photography program for 2 years.
When I am not working, I play competitive Fastball in the summer which takes up a lot of my time. I also love to spend time with my family of course, and friends (who I frequently con in to doing photoshoots with me).

Im loving the shots we are getting from our tub set. What a great way to utilize our master bathroom. Let us know if you might want to include some tub shots in your session. We do require a little more time to accommodate this set.
Cheesy Vegan Kale Chips Recipe } Pink Blush Boudoir
Sarina’s Cheesy Vegan Kale Chip Recipe.
Recently I posted about making Kale chips and after a few requests on how to make them I decided to make up a little blog post. We all know the struggle to find healthy snacks can be a challenge. One of my favourite snacks is chips, but with the high carb load and not always healthy ingredient, they can't be a part of my diet all the time. Kale chips are a grey alternative to the traditional potato chips. Packed full of green goodness, B vitamins, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, fibre and 5 grams of protein for every 100 grams. The recipe includes Cashews, Nutritional Yeast, and healthy oils to boost the nutrition value even more. You can't go wrong with Kale chips. They are easy to make and can be stored for about a week in an air tight container.
What you will need:
1 Head of Kale
1 clove of garlic
1 Lemon Juiced
2 TBSP of Braggs liquid amino (or soy sauce)
1/3 Cup Nutritional Yeast
2 TBSP Avocado Oil
3/4 Cup Cashews
Salt to taste
1/2 TSP Turmeric
You will want to start by soaking your Cashews for an hour or more before starting. Just place them in a bowl and cover with water. Wash and cut up your Kale, set aside to dry. Mix all other ingredients together in a bowl. You should have a paste like texture. Once you Kale is dry mix the kale wight the paste. I use my hands to ensure a more even coat on each chip.
Place kale in a dehydrator for 1 hour at 145, and then drop the heat to 115 for 2-3 hours. Make sure you rotate your trays a few times so they dry even. Once they are dry you can package them or eat them right away.

We find woman who try a boudoir shoot have such a good time and they come out of the whole experience feeling way more confidence then when they began.

On Instagram we will now be completely censoring any and all of our "nude" images we take. Anytime we post photos of any nipple showing (even if they are blurred out), Instagram takes them down. We will be censoring our images with the hashtag #freethenipple. Men and women are supposed to be treated as equals nowadays, however, me are the only ones allowed to show photos of their naked nipples with no censorship of any kind. What do you think of about this?? Should all nipples be censored? Men and Women? Or should we all be allowed to show? #freethenipplemovement
