Women are complex and alluring creatures. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to realize the beauty of being a woman, but once you do, there’s no turning back. The feeling of empowerment as a woman is like no other, and every female deserves to feel it at least once in her life. Getting glammed up for a boudoir shoot can do a lot of good for your spirits and in particular, you will get to discover your boudoir alter ego. This post is dedicated to all of those undercover dark and sexy women out there begging to break out of their shells but still keep a bit of mystery between the sheets.

New Year, New You!

With New Years Eve happening today, it's hard to not think about that pesky resolution you may or may not be making for the upcoming year. Instead of conjuring up inflexible goals like losing 60 pounds or stop smoking cold turkey, why not make a promise to love yourself no matter what the outcome of 2015 may be. We often get caught up with these unrealistic goals and once we think we won't achieve them, its only normal to feel like quitting. Let's be kind to ourselves this year and make it the best one yet!

1. Baby Steps

If losing weight is on your agenda this year, give yourself time to get into the routine of working out and eating right. Channel your inner Jillian Micheals and accept that anything worth working towards takes time and it isn't going to happen overnight. Be kind to yourself and if you have hick ups or cheats along the way, accept them and move on.

2. Stop Criticizing Yourself

As women, we are our worst critics. This is the year to stop judging yourself and start loving yourself! Criticizing yourself is wasted energy and it doesn't do you any good. This is the only body you will ever have, so why not embrace it for what it is and start living your life.

3. Reach Out

If you feel like you have lost touch with someone who you often think about, chances are that they are thinking about you too. Whether it be an old friendship, lost love, or family member that drifted away; this year is about living your life without regrets and reaching out to people who are important to you.

4. Live In The Moment

The only moment you will ever has is now, so stop worrying about the past or present and live in today. If you have a hard time staying focused on the now, things like meditating and yoga can do wonders for a busy mind.

5. Challenge Yourself

Whether it's a cooking class or getting that PhD, challenge yourself to learning something new this year. As we get older, we need to remember to continue to learn new things to keep our minds sharp. Taking a class will not only build your confidence but it has also been shown in many studies that higher learning attainment helps decrease the risk of diseases like Alzheimer's.

Its common that we have women come to our studio that suffer from varies types of health issues. Sometimes these issues are visible on the skin or by the appearance of a woman's body. Often medications can cause weigh gain, women can be left with scars from surgeries, or in the case of Sarah white spots on her skin are her symptom. Women often feel that these types on body issues make them un-pretty, or less attractive then they once where. Sure after a surgery or healthy issues you may not look the same as you once did, but that can't stop you from being beautiful. More commonly then not, once these ladies see their images they ask that they keep their scares or marks caused by their battles. They are a sign of strange, courage, and determination. Every year Victoria Secret puts on its annual fashion show that has more glitz and glamour than the Buckingham Palace. The main reason I love watching the show is to get some serious boudoir inspiration from the experts of sexy.
